"Red Table with Daylilies" is an example of Anne's present form of realism—a bold, colorful, direct response to the natural world. Two other puzzles featuring Shreve's paintings can be found in the gallery. Her work is held in the collections of the West Virginia Governor’s Mansion, Senator and Mrs. John D. Rockefeller IV, and Mr. and Mrs. Nick Nolte.
his Jean Merwin's painting “December” was found on St. Croix in 1997. The bright, exotic flowers set against the spare, white cottage draws you into the scene. Jean was a self-taught painter who moved from Pittsburgh to St. Croix in 1956. She said she felt it was one of the best paintings she had ever done.

"Blue Vase" is one of a series of sixteen works which incorporate the convent's window frames. This artwork was recently on exhibit at the Mercury Gallery in Boston.

Forest at Fontainebleau by Leon Kroll c. 1906 Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle - Size: 15 1/2" x 23 1/2" Kroll painted Fontainebleau in 1906 and named it for the famous royal forest outside of Paris, which is noted for its handsome old oak trees and its proximity to the Seine. The painting was rumored to be one of Kroll’s wife’s favorites. This puzzle promises to be a very challenging puzzle because of the scarcity of contrast its large size.

nterior at the Mountains By Otto Grundmann c.1878 Brown-Corbin Fine Art, Lincoln, MA Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle - Size: 13" x 19 1/2" Otto Grundmann was a German painter who studied in Antwerp and Dusseldorf before coming to Boston as the first instructor of the Museum School at the Museum of Fine Arts. The influence of Vermeer on Grundmann's work can be seen in this puzzle which contrasts 19th century European decor with the American wilderness of New Hampshire's Franconia mountain range.
The Stairway by Berio Gizzi c.1990 Brown-Corbin Fine Art, Lincoln, MA Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle - Size: 14 1/2" x 19 1/2" Berio Gizzi likes to juxtapose a variety of images in his paintings. "The Stairway" includes a rendering of a Van Eyke painting, one of Gizzi's own landscapes, a photograph of his daughter, and a porcelain doll that can be seen in five other paintings in a series. The painting was done in oil on masonite. Mr. Gizzi was born in Abruzzi, Italy, and studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.
